GIANT BABA vs. RUSHER KIMURA

Giant Baba vs. Rusher Kimura

This very luxurious league series went into the last stage. And there were some mysterious movements of the participants. Harley Race went home because of an injury by The Butcher's attack, and I understood it. Mr. Wrestling also returned to USA by reason of his bad condition. (what ?) Kintaro Ohki declined to fight because he was responsible for an injury of the ring announcer Momota, a son of Rikidozan. (what ?) Moreover, Dusty Rhodes fought only four matches and suddenly disappeared. He might have had a tight schedule.

At all events, the noteworthy match was held in Chiba. Of course, Giant Baba was the big boss of ALL JAPAN, and his opponent at that night was Rusher Kimura. Kimura was also the ace of KOKUSAI PRO-WRESTLING. As the top wrestler of the small organization, Kimura had to defeat  Baba, the popular party's champion. In this match the two strong wrestlers who belonged to the different companies fought, and in Japan it was very rare in those days.

However, this important match progressed to an unexpected direction. When the starting bell rang and they used some chops and kicks, Abdullah The Butcher broke into the ring. The Butcher gave a blow to Baba with his fist, and he knocked Kimura's forehead against the iron post. Kimura's face was bloodied cruelly. And instantly Abdullah went away. Baba and Kimura began to fight again, but Kimura was severely damaged. He was taken a fall easily by Baba's Kawazu Otoshi (Russian Leg Sweep).

But Mr. Yoshiwara, the president of KOKUSAI was not satisfied. He ran up to the ring in a hurry and protested against the referee Joe Higuchi. Yoshiwara got anger and pushed Higuchi, other wrestlers of KOKUSAI went into the ring, and a commotion arose. At that time I was an elementary school student, and I was excited at that scene very much, though I couldn't understand what had happened. It's my later thoughts, they might have racked their brains for saving honors of Baba and Kimura. In short The Butcher made a good job. Is that right ?
